Description

What is a Redshift "Scratch and Dent" product: That means that for whatever reason, this particular product didn’t live up to our high standard of quality, but is still perfectly safe to ride - and therefore available to you for a discount! There may be a cosmetic issue, damage to the outer packaging, or the product was installed on a bike to test fit or take some photos. Often times these products are completely new! Scratch and Dent products are not available in the UK, EU, AUS, CAN, and JPN. Additionally, you can not apply discounts to Scratch and Dent products. NOTE: Physical performance & durability are not compromised in any way. So all Scratch and Dent products are still covered by our lifetime warranty, however ALL SALES ARE FINAL, and our 90 Day Risk Free Trial does not apply. The Top Shelf Riser Handlebar raises your position by 50 or 70mm (2 or 2.75in) to give you an ultra-comfortable upright riding position and easy reach to the drops. It features the same backsweep, flare and compact drop as our best-selling Kitchen Sink Handlebars, so you can stay comfortable and in control no matter the terrain.

The patent-pending design features a unique double-bar construction, which allows for easy, secure mounting of bags and accessories. Configure the perfect set-up for anything from an afternoon gravel adventure to an epic multi-day bikepacking trip.

KEY Riser Handlebar Features:

  • RISE - 50 or 70mm (2 or 2.75in) of rise creates a more upright and comfortable riding position without the use of a highly angled stem or excessive headset spacers. This allows riders to achieve a more upright, relaxed fit while maintaining traditional drop-bar bike geometry.
  • CONTROL - Take advantage of the drops. The higher positioning of the drops provides a comfortable and secure hand position, giving you control to navigate rough terrain and steep descents. This keeps your body weight centered, while reducing neck and back strain.
  • BACKSWEEP - 7° degrees of backsweep orients the bar where your hands want to be. Whether you're on the flats, the hoods, or the drops, you’re getting an ergonomic position for your most epic gravel rides.
  • FLARE - 25° degrees of flare and a compact drop means a stable, aerodynamic drop position that is actually comfortable enough to use on your longest gravel ride or your next bikepacking trip.
  • WIDE -  44, 47, 50, and 53cm widths.
  • STORAGE - the unique double-bar construction provides room for all of your bar-mounted accessories. Mount handlebar bags (like our custom-fitted Top-Shelf Handlebar Bag which will be available summer 2024) securely, without flopping around like they do on a standard handlebar.
  • Perfect for road, gravel, bikepacking, and commuting.

Why are Your Riser Handlebars Flared?

Our handlebars are designed to seek a balance between the traditional wide flat bars which offer stability and control over rough terrain and the comfort and speed of road bike drop bar position without sacrificing control. The Top Shelf Handlebars are flared in the drops to give the rider a stable and more controllable riding position that is essential for gravel biking terrain. This combination of comfort and control allows you to ride longer, further and faster and is especially well-suited to long distance multi-day, week or even months long bikepacking rides.

Handlebar Accessories

To get even more comfort and performance out of your Top Shelf Handlebar, add the ergonomic Cruise Control Grip System. The Top Grips provide an incredibly comfortable position at the tops by expanding the bar and giving you a wide area to rest your hands. And the Drop Grips give you an extra comfortable position while in the drops through an ergonomic style grip that helps spread load over your hands so you can stay in your tuck all day.

Top it all off with some of our Really Long Bar Tape which is specifically designed to be long enough to wrap even the widest gravel handlebar. Oh and it's super comfortable with just the right amount of grip.

Finally, the new Top Shelf Handlebar Bag (available summer 2024) is custom-designed with dual straps to attach rigidly to the double-decker bar construction, and reinforced side panels support all of your gear without sagging or bouncing. The bag features a self-closing, magnetically secured top lid that is designed for easy single-handed access, even while riding. Add a bike computer mount (compatible with Garmin and Wahoo computers), that sits on top of the bag in an ideal location just in front of the stem.

You can choose between a 50 or 70mm (2 or 2.75in) to give you an ultra-comfortable upright riding position and easy reach to the drops. It features the same backsweep, flare and compact drop as our best-selling Kitchen Sink Handlebars, so you can stay comfortable and in control no matter the terrain.

We think wider is better. Particularly when riding off-road, the additional leverage and stability afforded by the wider handlebars dramatically improve handling and control, especially while descending and climbing.

If you're used to riding with a typical road bike drop bar width (38-46cm), we recommend matching your width or even trying a wider bar - the difference in effective arm angle is negligible, but the effect on control and comfort can be dramatic. In addition, if your current bar has little or no flare at the drops, we suggest going one size up because the hoods will end up being slightly tilted inward on a flared bar so the actual width a the hoods will be slightly less than the “width” of the bar. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Bought this post because of the AWFUL Chicago streets, and I am overjoyed at it's performance. I love that it is adjustable, feels extremely well-made, and enhances the look of my e-bike. Thank you for such a thoughtful product, my butt especially thanks you.

Money well spent!

  • William S

This is a great addition to my gravel bike. It took a few adjustments to get the right elastomers but, it definitely smooths out the ride. Will be purchasing a set for my road bike.

  • Scott C

This seat post is a game changer!! Absolutely love it on my gravel bike .gonna get one for my hard tail Mtb now

  • TD

Love the stem!! It really takes out all the worse bumps from your ride, and on rough trails really did offer a smooth comfortable ride.

  • Lawrence C

I hesitated buying this stem wondering would it work, was it a waste of money but I’ve had three off road rides with my new stem and I love it. I usually get pins and needles in my hands after riding for a while but that’s gone now. Added to the comfort is the improved handling on bumpy tracks and roads. I can ride a corrugated road now without feeling like I will get shaken off the bike. Very happy.

  • Jim G

I love my Redshift post! I recently had a lumbar contusion and the post has smoothed and cushioned the roads and trails. I’m able to stay on the bike while healing.

  • Ian S

After much thought I bought a red shift suspension stem and initial thoughts are that it's good, think they will become standard across all my gravel bikes.

  • Stephen H

I just finished my first ride with the Resdhift Shockstop Suspension Stem and I noticed the difference immediately. Having ridden for many years with rigid front ends (I’m 64) I now wish I had discovered this earlier in my life. The chatter that it removes from my wrists, arms and shoulders is easily noticed. This experience has been so good that now I’m considering the seatpost Redshift offers as well. The interesting thing for me is that I’ve promoted and sold these products for years based upon input from others. I just didn’t think I needed one myself. Get yourself one! You’ll never go back.

  • Mark G

The shock absorber was easy to install and works as described cuts down on the impact. I recommend it if you're going to do gravel, writing and bumpy bumpy roads

  • Karlos R

Wow, once I got the fit dialed on this seat post I thoroughly understood why everyone was upgrading their set ups with these products. Riding a long distances is what I do for fun and for a living and this seatpost made all the difference in the world. Pay attention to the recommended Sag settings as its key to finding comfort and keeping a proper pedaling extension. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Top Shelf 50mm 50cm

I contacted RedShift about excrutiating pain I was having with my reach on a Trek Checkpoint. My email was responded to almost immediately and after talking back and forth I decided to go with these Top Shelf bars along with the Cruise Control top/drop grips. Let me just say, It was the best decision I have ever made. I am so much more upright and in a bike-packing/touring position. I can now sit in the saddle for hours. There are so many different hand contact points as well, it really is nice being able to move around! I like having two different areas to attach things to the bars. I can do my light and phone mount on the top and my handlebar bag on the bottom. It's really great. Best purchase I've made so far! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to be more upright and relaxed.
